I GREATLY appreciate that you made note of the fact that there are a countless number of us who were very much unknowingly exposed to predators or put in dangerous positions and somehow were not harmed in the same way as so many others. I was personally exposed to and in the company of at least three on multiple occasions and it’s something I still grapple with sometimes.
I have been thinking about this a lot, too, since I read the GRACE report. And I keep thinking about the people who are rationalizing that it’s a “Baltimore Problem” so they don’t have to worry about it. But, like, so many of us grew up nowhere near the state of Maryland but we went to the Spring Rally, Junior/Senior weekends, the summer camp — we were still put into proximity of these men, sometimes by people who knew they were predators.
